Our Trip Plan
Joy Studio is a 4-week guided road trip (virtual, on Zoom) designed to help you reconnect with your emotional clarity, energy, and sense of direction.
Over four 60-minute evening sessions, you’ll receive original, practical tools to help you shift your state, notice what you need, and move through life with greater intention.
This isn’t a masterclass or a healing circle.
It’s a lightly structured, supportive experience—shared with fellow curious travelers—that offers new ways to tune in, feel grounded, and start shaping a life that feels more like yours.

Shame, Shutdown, and the Courage to Restart
Sometimes life feels heavy before you even get going. We’ve all been there. You stall. Spin out. Feel stuck in old patterns or harsh self-talk.
This week, you’ll learn how to meet those moments with compassion, not judgment, and how to restart gently when you’ve lost momentum.
You’ll be introduced to the Roadmap for Resilient Optimism, a tool to help you shift out of shutdown and into motion again. Because every journey has hard patches, and knowing how to navigate them is the key.

From Reaction to Flow, Control to Creativity
Here’s where the energy builds. You’ll be introduced to movement through Zones 2 and 3 of the Gauge.
Once you’re in Zone 2, you’re moving, but it’s fast and fueled by urgency, desire, pride. Your energy is still reactive.
Then something shifts.
In Zone 3, things open. Your energy feels cleaner. Less effort, more clarity. You start responding instead of reacting. This week is about recognizing that turning point and learning how to use it. Joy starts to feel achievable, and creativity comes back online.

Living the Life You Actually Want
Joy isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you build, by aligning your attention, your energy, and your choices with what truly matters.
This week is about forward motion, consciously creating the life you want. You’ll practice shifting from reaction to design, from being to allowing. In Zone 4, you’ll learn what it means to be in the driver’s seat of your life journey, manifesting abundance on your terms.
We’ll close with a glimpse of what’s possible beyond this first trip: higher states of calm, expansion, and connection. And for those ready to keep going, a preview of what’s ahead in Joy Studio 201 and the Global Joy Botánica.
Why I built this
“I didn’t just design Joy by Design—I crash-tested it.”
In the hardest season of my life—relationship stress, financial stress, and the heartbreak of watching loved ones struggle with mental illness and addiction, I realized something big: Life doesn’t stop being hard. But I could stop being knocked over by it.
I didn’t have a shortcut. So I built one. Slowly. With detours. And eventually, with joy.
My husband calls himself Patient 1. These tools helped us rebuild our marriage after two years apart.
My teenage daughter credits Joy by Design with giving her a drama-free high school experience—and wants her friends to learn it too.
Even my 81-year-old mother is using the Energy Gauge now. It’s helping her navigate her committee meetings with more joy! (Wink.)

Joy Studio is for anyone who wants to better understand their emotional patterns, recover more quickly from stress, and create a life filled with greater clarity and joy.
We intentionally welcome people from all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Emotional intelligence is for everyone, and this work is meaningful, practical, and accessible to all.
If you’re curious but unsure if this is “your thing,” rest assured: it is. You don’t have to overshare or step outside your comfort zone. All that’s needed is an open mind, a sense of humor, and a willingness to explore new ways of building inner strength—together.

You’ll be joining a small group of thoughtful people to help shape something meaningful. I’ll ask for your feedback after each session, and in return, you’ll get early access to a toolkit that has already helped transform lives (starting with mine).

It’s summer! That’s understandable. I’m asking you to commit to attending at least three. The guided portion of the session will be recorded for you to keep up.

We will be using breakout sessions to deepen our understanding of the material. While speaking is not required, it is meant to be an interactive and participatory class.

Only the guided or instructional portions of the course will be recorded, and will be shared only with fellow class participants who missed a session.

After each class, you will receive a survey to share your feedback. This pilot is intended to refine and improve the Joy Studio experience, so your candid observations and advice will be appreciated!
